Delicious arab dessert Kunafa recipe

This is a Lebanese/Turkish dessert variation made with vermicelli milk and cheese. It’s an easier version of the traditional dessert recipe with easily available ingredients. So here goes:

Fine Vermicelli 1 pack
Butter 200 gms
Milk 1 cup
Cornflour 2 tsp
Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup
Mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup
Sugar 1-1/2 cup
Water 1 cup
Lemon juice 1 tsp
Pistachios chopped

There are 3 separate things to prepare then assemble them all to complete the dessert.
Preheat oven to 180°C or u can make it in a pan/skillet also.
Firstly crush the fine vermicelli and add melted butter to it and mix well. Press a layer of vermicelli in a baking tin/tray and save some for another layer.

The second step is preparing the filling by boiling milk and adding cornflour while constantly stirring to avoid lumps. Add the ricotta cheese and pour the filling over the vermicelli layer in the baking tin or pan then top it with mozzarella cheese and then press the second layer of vermicelli on top of the filling.

Bake at 180°C for 25 mins or until the top turns golden brown.

The third step is preparing the sugar syrup by boiling water and sugar on low flame till it reaches string consistency. Then keep aside and add lemon juice to it.

Pour the syrup over the vermicelli mix immediately after removing from the oven and gently flip and pour the syrup on the other side too.

Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve warm. You can also add a scoop of icecream or fresh cream on top of the dessert.
