Allah (swt) has told us in the Quran that this night is better than a thousand nights.
The Night of Qadr is much better than one thousand months. (3) The angels and the Spirit descend in it, with the leave of your Lord, along with every command. 2 (4) Peace it is till the debut of dawn. (5) Surah Qadr
Narrated: Abu Huraira
The Prophet (saw) said, “Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.” Bukhari 125
You can do lots of nawafil, read Quran, make istighfar, send lots of durood upon our beloved Prophet (saw).
Aisha (RA) stated that I asked Rasool Allah peace be upon him, "If I find Lailatul Qadr then what should I do? He peace be upon him said, recite this Dua.“ALLAH HUMMA INNAKA A’FUWUN TOHIB BUL AFWA FA’AFU ANNI” - "O Allah! You are the Forgiver and You like forgiving so forgive me” (Tirmidhi)
Allah’s Apostle used to practice Itikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, “Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.” Bukhari 237
Keep reciting that dua and you can read Allahumma salli Ala and Allahumma barik Ala. Always and be sincere without haste make sure you have peace in your heart, and insha-Allah you’ll be forgiven, please make dua for me and my family and the rest of the Ummah.
And Allah knows best.
Thank you i meant, how many rakats? which surahs do i have to recite after surah fatiha? and how many times? how do i perform the whole prayer? step by step?
From what time do we have to start and are we allowed to iftari and sehri? if you could explain step by step we would really appreaciate it .
wa alaykum salam, on the last ten days of Ramadan especially the odd nights ie 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 make extra nawafil prayers i.e. do all your regular prayers and do the 20 taraweeh, pray tahajjud at night 2 rakat each, make loads of dua and istighfar and read the Quran as much as you can.
You fast and break fast as usual.
And like the Prophet (saw) said if you do it out of sincere faith and reward the you’ll be forgiven and rewarded insha-Allah and Allah knows best.
i have heard from people that you can’t take any rest or break in that night, then how come are we able to fast and break? and from what time shall we start and end worshipping Allah(swt)?
i have also heard that you have to pray 12 rakats with the intention for lailatul qadr nawafil, is this true?
and what exactly is istighfar, how do you perform?
can you give alot more examples of duroods and duas to read for our prophet pbuh? i may not know all of them is that ok?
No there is no specific prayers for lailatul qadr, the 12 you are referring to maybe tahajjud at night so do those two at a time with whichever surahs you know - the longer the better, make extra long ruku and sujood. To make istighfar is to say astaghfirullah (ask for Allah’s forgiveness). Read all the duas you know and the one thats mentioned above.
I pray Allah (swt) accepts our duas and Qiyam.
do i have to do anything specifically while reciting “astaghfirullah innallaha ghafururraheem”?
is the 12 rakat tajahhud at night sunnah or nawafil?
and after the 12 rakat tajahhuds, do i do tajjahhud nawafil or just nawafil as many as i like for lailatul qadr?
for reading extra long ruku and sujood, how long can i do? my mum said its only up to 7, is this true?
What do we exactly do in the long rukoos and sujdas, I mean after saying subhan rabi Al aala, is there anything else that we can say or do we just keep repeating subhan rabi Al aala
Among many duas you can recite these during Ruku:
سُبْـحانَكَ اللّهُـمَّ رَبَّـنا وَبِحَـمْدِك ، اللّهُـمَّ اغْفِـرْ لي
How perfect You are O Allah, our Lord and I praise You. O Allah, forgive me.
سُبـّوحٌ قُـدّْوس ، رَبُّ الملائِكَـةِ وَالـرُّوح

These are duas you can recite whilst in Sujood (prostration):

O Allah, unto You I have prostrated and in You I have believed, and unto You I have submitted. My face has prostrated before He Who created it and fashioned it, and brought forth its faculties of hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators.

O Allah, forgive me all of my sins, the small and great of them, the first and last of them, and the seen and hidden of them.
O Allah, I take refuge within Your pleasure from Your displeasure and within Your pardon from Your punishment, and I take refuge in You from You. I cannot enumerate Your praise, You are as You have praised Yourself.
This is also taken from Hisnul Muslim - Supplications for Sujood (prostration)
