Scrumptious date and apple crumble delight

300g plain flour, 150g coconut oil, 200g sugar, 3 cooking apples diced, 20 dates chopped, a pinch of cinnamon
What utensils are needed: a bowl, a tablespoon, a knife, baking dish or casserole dish and a pair of oven gloves or a tea towel

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan).
  2. Place the flour and cinnamon into a bowl.
  3. Add the coconut oil and rub in using your fingers until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
  4. Stir in half of the sugar. Put the remaining of the sugar on one side.
  5. Cube the apple up in the baking dish big enough for a crumble and add the remaining of the sugar and chopped dates, giving it a stir.
  6. Spoon the crumble mixture over the apples making sure it is even, whilst fully covering the apple mixture.
  7. Bake in the centre of the oven for 60 minutes or until the fruit is soft and the crumble is golden brown. (Mind it doesn’t burn). Serves nicely with cream/custard. While drinking a glass of water.
    Serves 6.
